Can't Open or Modify Contacts

I'm using Outlook 2003 & when I click on a Contact it does not open to allow
me to view or modify the details. Any suggestions?
 
Some more trouble shooting...

did it ever work?
what hapened between when it did and now doesn't work? Tell all - we don't
have esp.
what message do you get when you try now?
what add-ins do you run?
do you synchronise with any devices?
