Can't Open old ppt files

Steve

Help,

I have a huge number of old ppt files I am always using to pick stuff
out to use in new files. Suddenly I can't open any of them. I have two
machines, one Vista Business and Office 2007 and one XP Pro and Office
2003. I am stand alone, so I am my system administrator too, so others
look at me funny whey I try contacting my System Administrator. They
won't open on either machine. Since I normally use the XP machine, I
found a MS article 922874 and tried what it said, several times, and I
still cannot open any of these files. Some one said it was Office SP3,
so I went to back that out and it says it cannot be removed.

I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Thank you,

I do not have either of these keys referred to in the article for
PowerPoint in my registry.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

Steve

Okay, that means you need to create the keys.

Here's a page where you can either copy the text into a notepad file and
save as officefix.reg, or there's a zip file you can download that has the
reg file already created. (This is one of the SBS MVPs, and I trust this
file.)

Or you can just manually create it in the registry.

If being able to save as PPT 95 format is also important, then you may need
to post back for further instructions.
