can't open most .doc files.

Hi there,

When I try to open most word docs (.doc) from explorer, they come up
with the following error:

"MS Word - the document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions. * Check the file permissions for the document or the
drive.
*Use the file open dialog box to locate the document."

I use the file and open routine from within word and then they will
open up, but not from explorer, even though the permissions are set
properly, the extension ".doc" is associated properly.

Something's missing..... what is it??

This may help

Close Word
Start / Run, enter winword.exe /r
(Note: space before /. Also, you may need to add the path to
winword.exe)
Then start Word
