Hyperbar.dll is a pest, loads as a Browser Helper Object. That's why Explorer.exe is crashing

Hi tenxaday,

The following procedure will temporarily disable all the Browser Helper Objects and add-ons in IE, and IExplore should open normally.

1. Click Start, Run, type Control Inetcpl.cpl.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.

If you're able to launch Internet Explorer, now continue the malware removal advice given in that page. Once you remove the malware, as certified by a security expert (inspecting the HijackThis log), enable the above option back in Internet Explorer.

Hope all goes well.

hey thanks i can now open the folders, after i unchecked that box. but now i
have another problem i can't go to any websites on IE just some stupid serach
place.

I'd suggest that you download these three tools first (from another system) and copy to the subject computer.

1. Lavasoft Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com
2. SpyBot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org
3. CWShredder - http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.

Clean-up Windows Startup: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/startup.htm

Then, run a full system virus scan with fully updated definitions.

tenxaday,

There may be a malware process running. What's the executable name which takes most of the CPU? Meanwhile, register to a security forum and post a HijackThis log and request a analysis by experts.
