Anyway, if I can get help here this is my problem....

I have no clue about this kinda stuff. I Googled what I could and it
"might" have something to do with my "PKWARE"? Whatever that is...lol

I checked my folder options "file types" "pkzip" "advanced" "open after
download"

The settings have been the same since I acquired this computer 2 yrs
ago and I had no problems in the past.

The ONLY thing I've done since this problem started (to my knowledge)
was run a register cleaner (a free one Abexo) and deleted the files
that couldn't be found.

Can be a bad idea to run a registry cleaner, often has unintended results.
Does this reg cleaner have a restore from backup, for the items you removed?

PKWARE is a software supplier of pkzip app.
pkzip is not an app supplied as part of win, it is a seperate utility that
would have been downloaded/installed

If your reg cleaner cannot restore what it cleaned I'd suggest a new
download/install of pkzip

I backed it up but it wouldn't restore the items that I deleted - a
free registry cleaner - go figure. Been looking for a download of
pkware/pkzip online do you know where I can find this?

Obviously you'll now avoid registry cleaners :)

Got that right! I guess they give you the free version to screw up your
files and you have to BUY their other version to fix them. LOL

Registry cleaners fall into the category od dangerware. Unless you know
exactly what you're doing, they can cause an enormous amount of damage.
On the other hand, if you do know what you're doing and can handle the
tools safely, you don't really need them.
