I am using FP 2002 on XP and have a problem with one of
my webs.

I can open the web and open any page EXCEPT default.htm.
When I attempt to open default.htm I get the hourglass
and FP never comes back. I have to kill FP.

I also cannot save any page that I make changes to.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA
Jim

Try the usual repairs:
With FrontPage closed, find and delete all files named *.web and *.tmp
Clear the Browser Temporary Internet and History files.
Reopen FrontPage, then your web and then try opening default.htm

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file hidden file CMDUI.PRF
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State
4) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
5) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
6) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
7) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

- usually 1& 2 will do it

Okay, I did everything below, but I still have the same
problem.

I am trying to save this to my local machine not publish
it. But publishing doesn't work either.

Anything else I could try?

You obviously have some thing broken in the html in your page
- try deleting it and recreating it
