can't open any programs

I downloaded Microsoft antispyware and now I can't open
any programs. MAS seems to be continually running and
slowing everything down. The only thing it doesn't seen
to be affecting is interenet and email. has anybody else
had this problem? I really just want to get rid of it but
can't open my "add and remove" to do just that.
 
What happens when you try to open a program?

Uninstall is also available via Start, all programs, microsoft antispyware.
