Can't open an appointment in task scheduler

Running XP home sp2 fully patched

When I double click on any of the appointments in task scheduler I get the
following error message:

General Page initialization failed.
0x80090016: keyset does not exist

The appointment then opens and I can set the desired time but then the
appointment doesn't work.

Please help!

Even though this applies to Windows 2000 Server it works on XP. In my case,
Step 6 resolved the problem and I didn't even have to go to Safe Mode
although you will have be logged on as an adminstrator.

Please reply if this does or doesn't fix the problem.
