can't open a 2002 web in Frontpage 2000

Hello,

One of my students has built and published a web at school with Frontpage
2002. Now he would like to open his web at home to continue working on it,
but he only has Frontpage 2000. Whenever he tries to open the web at home,
he gets the same error message, which is basically saying (freely translated
from Dutch) that he can't access the folder (address site) and that the
server is possibly not reachable at the moment or that the folder is secured
with a password.

I suspect that this is because he's trying to open a 2002 web in the earlier
version 2000, but is this really teh case? The Frontpage server extensions
are installed because he managed to publish his site in school.

This one has been asked at least 4 or 5 times today in the FP newsgroups.

The folder "http://Website" isn't accessible. The folder may be located on
an unavailable volume or protected with a password.

Hi,

Sorry for asking again, but I had a look through the list of messages and
didn't see any topics that might have been related ... On top of that, half
of the messages of this newsgroup are no longer available by the time I try
to download them in the evening after work ... Probably something caused by
my crappy ISP ... another reason for booting it soon!

Hi again,

I had a look at the links you mentioned, but none of them seem to apply to
the case of my student, except maybe the page that suggests a problem with
the installation of Frontpage and a personal webserver. I'll check with my
student to see if he has a PWS installed ...

I'm not sure what is meant with "unique permissions". I'm sure my student
hasn't set permissions of any kind on his site because he has just started
taking the class ...

PS Is there a FAQ related to this newsgroup?
