We are adding a new XP computer and copying files over the network from a
2000 Server computer to the new one. The files transfer fine, but once they
are on the new computer we cannot open them. It says that we do not have
permission.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lia

Lia,

When you copy the files, are you doing the copy from the old server, from the
new server, or from a client? When you try to access the files, are you trying
to access them from the old server, from the new server, or from a client? Does
the new server use Guest, or non-Guest, authentication?
