cant move the quick launch tool bar outside my task bar

Hi, I cant move the quick launch tool bar outside my task bar. I'm running
XP professional. Can anyone help me? Any body else also facing the same
problem?

Is the taskbar locked? Right-click on an empty area and unlock it.

My Task Bar is not locked. I can see the vertical bar before the quick launch
bar. and I can click on it and drag it anywhere inside the Task Bar but not
outside it.

What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't? You

I might have installed Windows Update. (dont remember which patch though).
can it be the culprit?
