can't make my inbox smaller !!!

I'm using Outlook Express 6.0
Recently it started to act quite slow.
Folder C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\ in time got very large - some
above 450 MB, most of it is Inbox

Problem is I can't get rid of the mail, in order to reduce my inbox size.
I tried to remove mail from inbox, than from folder Deleted items, now I
can't see all that mail, but Inbox hasn't changed in size.

Please, help...

The best thing to do would be to use the Clean Up utility in Outlook
Express.
1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Go to Tools -> Options.
3. Select the Maintenance tab and click on Clean Up Now.
4. Now click on the Compact button.

This should reduce the size of the files in Outlook Express to help save
disk space. I hope this information is helpful.
