Can't Login

I have a laptop, and when I plug it into the network, it can log onto the
domain just fine. But when I take it off the network, it gives me an error
msg "domain not availible".

Now I thought it was supposed to use my cached login credentials when I'm
off the network. Did I miss something to turn this caching on ? Any ideas?

Please, verify your Domain Default Policy, in Computer Configuration\Windows
Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Optins\Number of previous
logon in cache.
