My laptop was an ex-work PC that had Windows-2000. I upgraded it to Windows XP Professional at home, no problems at all, worked superbly. However it still had the old work domain names on and I wanted to connect it to my Home LAN. I couldn't use my printer at home or connect to my file server, my ADSL link however worked fine
I went in to Control Panel, System and ran through the dialog about setting up for the home network. No problems at all. Then when I rebooted it didn't recognize my old userid/password. Also, there is nowhere I can put in a domain name (as I could do before) to bail me out of this mess. Administrator password also doesn't seem to work
Any ideas? How can I put in a domain name when there is only a) User Name and b) Password. The "Options" button appears to serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever.
