Can't login to Windows 2000 Pro

I've got a notebook running Windows 2000 Professional
connecting to a domain. Last night when shutting down, the
computer stopped responding while synchronising offline
files so I had to use the power button to turn it off.
This morning, when I tried to log in, I get the
message "The local policy of this system does not permit
you to logon interactively". This message comes up when
logging on using my username or the Administrator
password. Logging on in safe mode produces the same
message. Any ieas would be appreciated.

Are you still connected to the domain? Use the Group Policy Editor on another
PC in the domain to check and correct the Security Settings (under computer
configuration/windows settings) in the group policy object that applies to
your PC. I think you want the "Log on locally" setting...
