Can't log off

I have a domain setup, Server SBS2003 R2 with ten XP Pro SP3 clients. On two
clients, the os works perfect, except the shut down and log off buttons.
Nothing happens when I press them. Only way to turn the computers off, it to
hold power button. Any ideas??

Well, not all of a sudden. I had replaced the server and installed SP3 on all
the pcs at the same time. Trouble is, the user didn't tell me, it was only
when I worked on the troubled PC that I noticed it. The user said she
couldn't remember when it started, and it is alright 1 in 10 times.

I'm having the exact same problem. My computer will NOT shut down unless I
hold the on/off button on the CPU. This finally caused a crash with my system
in that my personal settings were not saved (because of not properly logging
off). In talking with a computer expert at my office he said the computer got
"confused" when I kept shutting down without logging off appropriately.
Anyway...how do you fix this problem so you can shut down correctly?
