Can't Load Windows

What a nightmare! Came back from vacation to find power supply kaput. Installed new supply.
Windows loaded then crashed awhile later and kept rebooting in a loop. CheckDisk seemed to wipe the
drive. Kept deleting index entries. Well, let's try reinstalling W2K. Deleted partition,
recreated and formated. Ended up with error saying partition could not be formatted. Decided to
try spare HDD used for storage. Formatted OK but ended up with error trying to copy files YIKES!
WHAT THE %?>/ IS GOING ON? Any ideas? Replacement W2K CD? Got Microsoft's telephone #?

It sounds to me like the old disc was damaged when the
power went out.

Since everything went bad after you installed the replacement power supply,
there is a strong suspicion that this is a dud supply.
