Can't load sites with Javascript after applying security update to IE6.0

This appears to be a known issue, per MS KB article 827667.

The article directs you to a patch download.

But when I tried to run the patch, it quits saying that it requires SP1 to
be applied first - even though I already have already applied SP1.

So, I can't run the patch, and I still can't load sites with javascript.

Any ideas?

Additional information:
- I have re-installed MS Script 5.6
- I did the "regsvr32 /s urlmon.dll"
- I disabled javascript debugging in Tools/Internet Options/Advanced
- I ran Windows Update and got "no updates required"

Still not working.

Repair IE.
Add/Remove Programs/MS/IE repair....

It may be interesting to check the version of some I.E. files on your
computer.
Check your current version.

I can't run the patch

The symptom from your self-prescribed fix indicates that you probably
already have a patch which supersedes it.

I still can't load sites with javascript.

Do you have a link to cite as an example of your real problem?
