Can't load Norton Ghost 2002 on WinXP sp3

I performed a vanilla install of XP and then loaded the SPs. I've been using
it for someitme with no problems. I tried to load Norton Ghost 2002 and
received an error that stated that the adminsitrator had set policies that
prevented the loading of the software. I set no policies, and connot
discover any setting that would prevent the loading of the app. I've loaded
a number of software packages prior to this with no problems. I searched the
event loag and found this addtional info:
Event ID: 11729
Source: MsiInstaller
Anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be?

There is n ot WinXP SP3 !

Ghost 2002 was replaced by Ghost 2003 which was replaced by Ghost 9 which was replaced by
Ghost 10 !

Ghost 2002 is not compatible with SP 2. Microsoft has not issued SP 3.

You're right, sorry for the typo-WinXP SP2. I can load GHost 2002 on my
other PC and laptops running WinXP SP2, but not on the machine I need it on.
Any ideas on where the seci=urity setting might be that is preventing the
install?

I never tried Ghost 2002 on any WinXP PC.
Is this MSI Installer v3.1 that is genertaing the error ?

I don't know how to find the release version for MsiInstaller. If you can
direct me to where its stored, I'll check it out.

I don't know where it is but you can load the Windows Update web page and choose to show all
installed updates and see if it is in there.

I could be mistaken but... I have the feeling that that Ghost 2002 is incompatible to the
lastest MSI Installer. You might have installed Ghost 2002 on the other platforms prior to
its release.

Ghost 2002 does run on Win XP, I'm running it on my laptop now with WinXP
SP2. I just can't figure out why it won't run on my PC, where I need it, due
to a "policy" set by the administrator. I did not set any policies with the
install of XP, unless they were set as defaluts. At any rate, I cannot find
any such setting that I can change to allow the install.

direct me to where its stored, I'll check it out.

It's in a hidden folder in your C:\WINDOWS directory. Select Tools >
Options > View to change the file view.
