Can't install XP, won't accept DOS comman

I have reformatted my harddrive to hopefully get rid of a
lot of problems and to convert from Win98SE to XPHome,
the full version, not the upgrade. I am using the startup
disk from Win98 to attempt to install XP but it won't
accept the DOS commands. I saw a fix for that on
Microsofts website...e:\i386\winnt.exe
It didn't work. Says its a bad command. How can I get it
to install? I tried downloading a boot disk for XP but it
won't fit on a floppy, it's ove 4MB.

All XP CD's are bootable. Set your BIOS to first boot from CD, re-boot with
the CD in the drive. All tools for formatting, partitioning and installation
are there. The only normal reason to use a floppy would be to format a
partition larger than 32 Gig's to FAT.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
