I have a WD Caviar SATA2 that works when used as a second drive, but won't
install XP properly. I get an error message when it goes to reboot at the
BIOS screen, saying that there's an error loading operating system. The
drive formats fine and works great as a back up. I've tried everything and
can't get it to install XP. Help!

You don't mention pressing F6 during the CD startup phase of setup. Put the
sata drivers on a floppy disk, and have it in when you boot to the xp setup
CD. Watch the bottom of the screen for the message 'press f-6 for RAID"
