Can't install some software from CD

I get an error message telling me that the administrator
has set policies that prevent this type of installation
when I try to install some software from the CD. I do a
run as administrator...same thing. I have tried copying
the CD contents to a directory on the hard drive and that
works but is inconvenient. I check the policy settings
for devices and software but can't find any restrictions.
Any clues?

Hello Larry,
If your workstation is a member of a domain you may want to talk with the
domain administrator.
It appears as if there is a policy in place to prevent the install of
software from removable media.
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Installer\Prevent
removable media source for any install
