can't access CD files or burn to a CD at the workstation as domain user with local guest permissions

CD-RW drive was working fine without group policy.
After apply group policy with user configuration:
"Prevent access to drives from my computer:"
"Restrict C drive only"

Then the CD-RW drive can't show
"Erase this CD-RW" from "CD Writing Tasks" when CD-RW CD
inside the drive which works fine without group policy.

All the PCs are in a library.
So have to prevent user access C:

Set the local policies to enable "restrict access to CDrom to locally
logged on users"

Does anybody encounter this problem?

I have heard of problems burning a CD in some cases if the security option
was enabled for "restrict access to CDrom to locally logged on users" so I
would try disabling that setting which would allow a network user to use the
CD if it was shared though most likely you would not be doing that. ---

I'm having pretty much the same problem but I've identified that the issue is
the GP setting and has nothing to do with restricting access to the CD-ROM to
locally logged on users. I've changed the restricted drive letter to the A
and B for testing and then I can drag and drop files to the CD drive, but
when I restrict access to the C drive I can no long drag and drop files and
the send to option disappears. I've also changed the storage location for
temporary files to another partition that is not restricted and that does not
help. I really need to restrict access to the system drive and need to allow
CD burning without using a 3rd party app so if there is a work around I'd
love to know about it.

Thanks,
Pete
