can't install screen savers on XP

Been trying to install some favorite screen savers on my
new XP home edition PC, and they will not install. the
help files have no info on this issue. Anybody have an
answer as to what is wrong?

Depends on the screensaver.
Those with a *.scr extension can be directly placed into
your c:\windows\system32 folder and will show up on the
screensaver tab in display properties. You can also right
click these files and test, configure, or install as the
default.
Those with a *.exe extension install like a program. I
would put them in the same folder as above, then Double
click on the file and it should install.

Be sure that the savers are XP compatible, some will just
not work with XP.
