I run XP Pro. I recently uninstalled the printer program
that came with my Hp 960cseries printer. I have
uninstalled the printer several times and had no
problems. I've run the search program and deleted all
files and folders including the Hpz and Hpf files. I did
not touch the Windows drivers. The Windows driver workis
but does not show ink levels etc and I want to install
the program that came with the printer.
If I use the Windows drivers, I do not get the program
for the printer. I've gone the HP driver down load site
and loaded the proper driver for that printer.
My problem is installing the drivers. I can copy the
files but cannot install them. Every time I try to
install the files, I get a window showing the install
starts but a window keeps popping up showing with the
following.
The Window is titled "16 bit Windows Subsystem" and the
text says "Windows config.nt. the system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows
Applications. Choose "CLOSE" to terminate the
application.
This happens also when I insert the printer program CD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive spent hours
emailing the customer support at Hewlett Packard and they
have tried to help. They believe that this is a system
problem.
Thank You.
