When I atempt to install Noton Anti-virus 2004, I get a
message that it detects another user on the computer, and
that the installation is aborted so I can get the other
user off. I have shut down the other user, closed all
progams on both users, and I still get the message and
the installation is aborted.

I ordered the Noron Anti-virus from SoftwareMedia.com,
and they do not offer technical support and recommended
that I call Symantec, but I believe that will incur a
$29. charge. The software reseller will not refund my
money because I opened the disk package to install the
software.

Help!!

Hi, Norton's 2004 products introduced product activation (i think) if you
bought from a company on the web they need to provide support. Most likely
you purchased a copy that had already been installed on a PC and then they
sold it to you. Right now you are out of luck. Purchase a new valid copy
from a retail store or ask Symantec if they can help.

make sure your installing from a user that has
administrator privilages.

Also, log all other users off by pressing log off on the
start menu and then 'log off' again on the window that
pops up.

Or you can pres ctrl+alt+delete and choose the Users Tab
and log each of them off (except the one your using
[obviously])
