can't install Nero

I have Directx10, Nero 7 says I need at least directx 9 and won't installuntil I agree to let it install directx 9c.
Any ideas on how to fix this ?
I'm using the 190 meg trial from www.nero.com/downloads
I have Nero 6 also, but that won't install either.

Nero won't overwrite the older version. Go ahead and install. I did.

There's nothing to fix...click yes, it'll realise you are on v10 & update
nothing.
