Can't install IE7 and experiencing problem with original browser

Hello to all. I hope I'm not being redundant and repetitious with
this problem but I searched all over the web and it seems like I have a
problem similar to the one discussed in this group. I had Internet
Explorer 7 [beta 2] and I tried to install Internet Explorer 7 but it
would not work. The screen would appear to open but it was not there.
So I system restore my computer back to an earlier date before the
installing IE7 but now my IE7 [beta 2] does not operate properly. My
tabs are no longer there, I cannot download files [ex.pdf files], the
IE window on my taskbar won't show the website I'm viewing and now
I'm receiving this error message:

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 50dc75ff

I even install Firefox on my junk drive and installed it on my computer
but that does no work either. I'm beginning to think it's a more
serious problem than IE. If anyone has had a similar problem or can
help me as far as pointing me to the right direction, I would greatly
appreciate it.

Thanks,

It sounds like you have a hijackware problem.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Thanks PA Bear but I found the solution to my problem. The original
browser that I had was the IE7 Beta 3 and it conflicted with the
installation of the official IE7 so I just uninstall it and reverted
back to IE6 and I downloaded Firefox (to avoid this kind of situation
again). Thanks for the troubleshooting PA Bear and I think I will run
the Hijackware program just to be sure.
