Cant install Direct X 9.0b

I have Windows XP Pro and i downloaded DX9.0b and it tells
me that the version of windows i have is incompatable with
this version of DX! I am trying to upgrade from DX 8.1
 
Please post your issue to the microsoft.public.directx.misc newsgroup.
They're the ones who deal with DirectX problems.
 
Make sure you have downloaded the version for XP. There seems to other
DirectX 9b versions for the other Windows versions.
