Can't install Ati multimedia center on my pc

Hi,

I've been using Ati multimedia center v. 9.02 on my pc. I have previously
managed to upgrade this sofware without problems. the problem started when i
tried to uninstall it. uninstallation stopped unexpectedly and I wasn't
prompted for a restart. the program was still listed in add/remove programs.
I used windows install cleanup to remove it and I've used regcleaner and
other registry cleaners. I've been on this website

and followed all the steps to remove all Ati software.i've also been on
this site http://www.flexbeta.net/forums/lofi....php/t5132.html.I unplugged
the remote control receiver as recommended. i can reinstall the display
drivers and the control panel. the dvd decoder install appears to complete,
but when I try to install the multimedia center, installation stops without
warning during the "publishing product information stage"
I don't know why it stops, and the error ID in the applicaton event log is
not in microsoft's database.

could it be a permissions problem, or some software I've installed.

I would try installing the multimedia app to the '../allusers/shared
documents/..' folders.

Problem solved!!!!!!!!

Service Pack 2 Was the PROBLEM. I thought about some software I had
installed since my last Ati upgrade, BUT I Completely forgot about SP2 . I
Uninstalled it before installing the Ati multimedia center. Everything worked
fine. That was a week wasted thanks to SP2 !
