Can't install applications

Hi. Whenever I try to install anything, the installer
freezes half way through the process. I'm also trying to
uninstall Norton Antivirus and it freezes up on that too.
Any suggestions?

Hi Jason,

Common installation problems are usually cured by restarting the machine,
then....

1) Delete the contents of the temp folders, there may be a file in there
interfering with the setup routine of the installer. Get both:

C:\Windows\temp
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\local settings\temp

2) Turn off all other running programs, especially your antivirus software.
Use ctrl+shift+escape, if necessary, to "end task" on everything.
