can't import address book from Outlook to Outlook

I would like to move my address book to my laptop. For
some reason in my address book the import/export items on
the file menu are ghosted. Though I would the *wab on my
home machine, I can't get it into my laptop outlook
because the the import export functions are ghosted. I
added one contact on the laptop, but don't find any *wab
file. The laptop runs XP and the main machine runs 2000
professional. The version of Office is 2000 Premium.

That's because there is no address book in Outlook. All data is stored in
the Contacts Folder, part of the PST file in which all Outlook data is
stored. You'll find an Import and Export... command there.
