Can't Hibernate or go to Standby

I just installed about a dozen Widows Updates on two computers: one a HP Media Center Desktop PC and the other a Compaq Presario laptop. Hibernate and Standby mode worked perfectly prior to the update, neither computer will Hibernate or go to Standby now. Both report that the keyboad driver will not allow Hibernate/Standby. For example, the Presario reports, "The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard' is preventing the machine from entering hibernation. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may have to update the driver." I've looked for a driver using Compaq "Help and Support", "Windows Update", and the Microsoft web site, so far without success. Any ideas?

Go to the device manager and reinstall the driver or maybe there is another
driver there. This has happened to me three times. Jym
