Hello,

What happens when you try to Standby or Hibernate? Any error messages? Post
the exact error message if any.

If the Standby button is dimmed, ensure you have installed the drivers. Look
for a drivers CD that should have come with your laptop. Insert the disc and
follow instructions to install the drivers.

Your Usenet interface is not properly configured, it does not leave a
blank line between your reply and the previous reply that you are
quoting. Your signature lies are not properly delimited with 2 dashes
and and line return.

You are also top posting.

Please fix your Usenet interface. It appears you're using Outlook
Express without any of the updates/patches that would fix this - someone
running a Computer Service should know this.

you should double
check your bios
and ensure that
the advance power
management features
are enabled.

you should also double
check your laptops
home site for faq's and
driver updates.

you can also ascertain
additional info for your
systems power features
by clicking start>run>cmd

then at the prompt >:

powercfg /?
