Can't go backwards in IE.

On may sites when I hit the back button the page does not go back. I
sometimes have to hit the back button 3 times in order for it to finally take
me back to the previous page.

Does anyone know why this happens?

This can happen with sites where the link is a redirection in fact.
Pressing "Back" once will lead to the site which redirects, so that
you end at the same site again.
