I cannot get my XP partition to boot. Dual boot system, no boot menu appears and w98 boots up no matter what I do. w98 is on C:, XP Pro on D: -- this has always worked fine, but I ran NAV from/on the w98 OS, got the "boot record changed" message, and told it to go ahead and restore the older record BAM. No XP

Please help. Maybe I need to use system restore at the commandline level? Maybe I should boot to the XP installation CD

I tried cd\D: > restore, and got a "bad command" message.

Try booting to the XP CD, going to the recovery console and using the
command
fixmbr
(this will fix the master boot record)
you could also research the command
bootconfg /?

Info about using restore in a command line:

XP

Good luck
