Can't get video to play in PPT using Liveweb plug-in

I have a typical myspace page that has an embedded music video in it
that will be used as an exhibit in a presentation. The recommended
Liveweb add-in works great as far as inserting the page and making it
scrollable, but the video does not play. I used Streamdown to download
both the stream file (.asx) and the video (.wmv) I've saved and edited
the web page all locally so it doesn't need to be online at all. The
local version works fine in IE, and the video plays. Viewing with
Liveweb on a Powerpoint slide, I just see the video player box with
greyed out controls. If I right click on it for errors:

Class not registered (Error=80040154)

I've tried multiple ways of coding the html (it always plays in IE) as
well as different videos. Please help.

Take a look at my add in PFCMedia, it has a feature called "Media From URL"
and it is designed specifically for this. You can down load a fully
functioning trial version from www.pfcmedia.com.

Thanks, but is that going to work embedded in a web page page in
Powerpoint? I need to the whole page and not just video window and it's
pretty long.

No, this is not for placing web pages inside of PPT, only the video.

Haha you're funny. I got it to work using an .avi file but RETARDLY it
doesn't work with Microsoft's own proprietary format .wmv.

Always glad to spread a little humor. Seriously, glad you got it working.
