can't get "USB Printing Support"

Epson R300M printer requires USB. followed the install instructions, but the
USB "Item?" that should be in Device Manager, i.e. "USB Printing Support",
does not appear. PC particulars: ASUS p4s533-mx, with 4 USB ports on board.
Win 2000, SP4.

Has anyone seen this before? Any solutions?

Make sure USB is enabled in the BIOS.

Hi

Go to the registry and browse hkey local machine-> system-

current controlset -> enum -> usb

Try deleting any relevant printer entries and try all over
again. Remember not to plug in the usb cable while
installing it the setup program will prompt u to insert it
