Cant get security updates

Running Win2000 SP4 pro, when asking to download the
latest security updates I get a message: you must run a
windows operating software to get the upgrade(!!!!)
I was last month invaderd by Blaster and reinstalled
Windows with great difficulty and lots of attempts.
Any clues?

Mike,

How are you trying to get the updates? Are you
navigating directly to the security or windows update web
sites and downloading each package individually? Are you
using windows update on your computer to hook to the
Microsoft site, have the WU scan your system and then
download the patches? Or something else?

Do you have any hotfixes applied to the system?
