Can't get Reading Pane font size to change Out2007

I've read where holding ctrl + scroll lock while in the reading pane, should
change the size. I can't get it to work. I hold down ctrl and roll the
middle button on my Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000, and nothing
happens. I've tried multiple emails in my inbox. Is there an alternate
keyboard way to make this happen?

Control and the + key. To reduce text, control and the - key.

In 03, View > Text size. Not sure about 07. I didn't test the above in
Outlook, sorry. It works in T-Bird and many other programs so I assumed,
incorrectly, that it would work in Outlook.
