Can't get re-booted

My computer encountered some sort of problem and shut
down. Now I can't get it to boo-up again. I am running
windows XP home. Can someone please tell me what I can do
to get it re-started.
 
What is the behavior when you try to boot the computer? The more information you provide, the more likely you are to get a useful answer.
