Can't get prompt for disconnect when I close ISP

I'm using SBC Yahoo Dial and connecting with WXP and IE
6. When I click close on the ISP home page, I am
returned immediately to the desktop without any prompting
about disconnecting and the phone line is left
connected. How can I get a prompt to ask if I want to
disconnect or as an alternative, get an autodisconnect?

Tools | Internet Options | Connections | Settings (in Dial Up section) |
Advanced | Settings
Disconnect when a connection may no longer be needed.

Frank, I've tried that setting and it does not help. Do
you have any other ideas?

Some browser extensions can cause this.
For me it was the Alexa toolbar.
