I have XP Pro on my laptop. the laptop is password protected. On boot up
when it asks you to alt-ctrl-del to get into the password screen it does
nothing, it just sticks at that point so I can't get to the point of putting
in my password. So I can't get into my computer. I have tried starting in
safe mode but it still stops at alt-ctrl-del............please someone help

When it's that bad then this is the best (and safest) method I have found to
use:

How to perform an inplace upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows XP:

It will not (usually) eat your files though you'll need to apply any updates
all over again.

Could it be that you keyboard is not working at that point and will not
accept input?

Hi Angela,

Is this the System Admin account? Either way:

On Pro Edition, from the Welcome Screen, press ctrl-Alt-Delete Twice. Once
there, change these settings, reboot and try to set them back. Good luck!
