I can't get on the internet with IE, yet I have a
connection according to the ethernet's connection icon. I
get a message that the page is not available (error 404).
I can get on to AOL, but I can only get and send email. I
can't open any other web pages. For example, "AOL radio"
is just an empty page, with no text or icons.
I can't turn on the "remote access" commands in the
administrative services section. It gives me an error
code, too. I tried repairing, and reinstalling IE 6, but
no help. Ditto for AOL. I reloaded win2k, and no good.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Are you on an internal network? If you aren't and can send emails and people
are actually getting them (try sending one to yourself to test it) then you
are on the Internet. Are AOL's technical help any good?
There is also an AOL newsgroup which had this message on it.

Greetings --

I'm afraid you'll need to contact AOL's tech support for resolution
of problems with (or caused by) their product; Microsoft has no
control over AOL's product quality (or lack thereof).
