cant get my hp psc 1210 printer to work with vista

I updated the driver but it just does not print. i dont even get an
error message. thanks
 
Mine does...with both Vista Home Basic desktop, and Vista Home Premium
laptop. The laptop does it by Network Magic wireless.
 
I have a the HP LaserJet 1200 on my Vista Home Premium system. Have you
tried installing the HP PCL 5 driver? It worked on mine. It's likely you
know this, but sometimes the operating system recognizes the peripherals
better by attaching them before you start up.

Thanks, everybody. Im not sure what is going on. I have a new compaq
laptop so maybe that is the issue. I went to properties and changed to
print directly to printer
as opposed to spooling and i can print but cant change printing
preferences.
