can't get hotmail notification

I just installed windows service pack 2. since I have done this, windows
messenger alerts me of e-mail in my outlook express account, but no longer in
hotmail. Can I change this back to how it used to be? and get notified when I
have hotmail?

Add-In support was removed with Windows Messenger 4.7.3000 (which is what SP2 comes with).
In order to have the Hotmail functionality that you have in MSN Messenger in Windows
Messenger you'll need to downgrade back to Windows Messenger 4.7.2009:
