can't fully uninstall

I have a version of xp designed specifically for my toshiba satellite laptop.
this version comes with microsoft office 2003, and mcaffee virus scanner
built into it. I wish to uninstall these programs, because I prefer others.
However, sindows doesnt let me uninstall office, and when I tried to
uninstall mcaffee, a blank box started popping up, where the mcaffee one used
to be.

I recently reinstalled windows for other reasons, but I woujld like to
uninstall these programs... mcaffee more than office, because mcaffee opens
itself on startup, (annoying), and i cant turn it off. If anyone knows how
to uninstall these programs, or at the least remove mcaffee from startup, you
will be my new favorite person.

You would be most unwise to attempt to install any other AV untill you have
completely removed McAfee
So McAfee is not shown in Add/Remove dialogue?
