cant find SHELL.dll

in using my business software, they provide a basic
backup utility. Worked great for 2 years but now it gives
error message that it cant find SHELL.dll Software
manufacturer says it is a windows component. Shell.dll
shows up in the windows file as valid. no recovery disc
provided by toshiba with laptop, where do I go from
here......thanks

Hi Jim,
shell.dll is an integral part of the Windows.
Make sure you have shell.dll in C:\Windows\System and C:\Windows\System32
otherwise Start>Run and type in "sfc /scannow">Enter [without the
quotes]to make sure you're dll files aren't damaged.
