Can't find File...

T

After publishing the project to my Video Folder under my user, Windows Media
Player gives the error "Windows Media Player cannot access the file..." The
web help gives an error message code of "CD00D11D2".

I am using Vista Home version. I can see the file in my "Video" folder but
can't get it to play except by opening the project file in Movie Maker. When
I try to add the video file to my playlist in Media Player I get the same
error message as above.

Any ideas are appreciated up here in hillbillyville!

Sounds like you have only saved the project file, not the actual video file.
Bit like saying you have the ingredient list to make a cake, but not the
actual cake!!

Open the file in MM, then publish it as a dv.avi or wmv file and this will
play.

The MM project was published to my video folder on my hard-drive and has a
file extension of .wmv

I tried to do a "save as" in MM and add the .avi file extension and
re-publish to my hard drive but it still gave it a .wmv file extension.

Still trying..........

ok, wmv is the actual video, so I don't know why it won't play.
Do you have any other video players installed?

Save as normally saves the project file which goves a mswmm extension, you
need to publish and then choose the dv.avi option from "more choices" at the
appropriate box, which is the same as when you choose the location.

Just to be sure you are trying to open the right file, why not save it to
the desktop, where hopefully you won't have any other files of this type to
confuse the issue.
