Explorer.exe is a critical core component of Windows and cannot be
easily removed or replaced.
What is the actual problem that you are trying to solve by replacing
explorer? There may be another way to achieve this result.
And if you do need to replace Explorer.exe the way to do it is to boot
your computer to the Recovery Console using your Windows install CD or
the multi-diskette boot set that you can download from
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=310994 and then copy the file from
the Service Pack Files folder on your hard drive or from your Windows
install CD as appropriate. If your installed Windows includes a
Service Pack that is not on the CD then you need to use the copy from
the Service Pack Files folder.
